Born in 1975, this tiny 8-bit CPU has powered countless adventures. From games to education, from learning to code to dreaming of new worlds — so much began with this chip.

In just a few thousand bytes of memory, the 6502 inspired creativity, ingenuity, and imagination. It gave shape to entire universes within strict limitations.

Though I was born a few years later, I grew up in the world it shaped. It powered the games I loved, and sparked my earliest wonder.

Now, in the 6502’s 50th year, I revisit it as a programmer.

And in this milestone year, I’m rewriting the 6502 in Zig — a language that values clarity, control, and elegance. This is my tribute. A quiet thank you. And once again, an engine to power dreams.
